JT was catching up with some of his friends and I happened to tag along. I’m very happy that I decided to tag-along for dinner as it was an opportunity to meet some of JT’s friends for the first time. Oh, and I also happened to revisit Ramen Ya, for some ramen of course…

Ramen Ya has a pretty relaxed atmosphere. You walk on by and you can sit wherever you like, whether it be outside or inside. The seating area is quite limited inside so you’d have to be quick to get a seat on a rainy day.
Paying for your meals as you order is fairly common at fast food chains and at cafés. I enjoy paying for my meal up front. It saves me the trouble of worrying about having to paying for the the bill later, as these kind of things tend to sit at the back of my mind and nag frequently. Everyone is also able to order separately, when they are ready. That’s how it’s done at Ramen Ya. You go up to the counter to order and pay for you meal. When your meal is ready the waitress brings your meal to your table. You get your own water. The waitress will clear the table when you’ve finished, and you leave when you’re ready.
Ramen Ya has been one of my go-to places for ramen. However, this time around the ramen was disappointing. Even though the ramen was still very flavorsome and had great texture, it was very salty. Ramen Ya has delivered consistently in terms of flavour in the past, so hopefully it was just a once off.
